Get Ready For Ads On Facebook Messenger By The End Of This Year
Who says advertising isn't a profitable? Ask Facebook and they will tell you how it is done. After flooding your timeline with ads, Facebook will now put ads in Messenger which has over 1.2 Billion monthly users worldwide.
Messenger Head Of Product Stan Chudnovsky spoke about this to VentureBeat founder Matt Marshall as it will be a way for Facebook to connect those 1.2 Billion users to 60 million businesses on Facebook. The ads are expected to be shown on the homepage of Messenger.
The testing had begun in Australia and Thailand in January this year. While sponsored messages are still used currently but this time they will be adopting a traditional advertising approach and they are pondering whether to redirect the user to an external web page or remain within the app.
Advertising is not necessarily everything, but it’s definitely how we’re going to be making money right now. And going forward, there are some other business models we are exploring as well, but they’re all around ads one way or another. The ads are said to be implemented worldwide by the end of this year.
