The game offers you to be taught individually about each of the twenty chess pieces in a step-by-step manner by your coach. It also allows you to develop hands-on learning by practising your moves with each individual piece through a set of carefully curated exercises. You can take as much time as you want while thinking through each of your moves and understanding the movements of each of the pieces.

Dr Wolf not only helps you develop an understanding of the game but also teaches you lethal opening & attacking strategies by providing you with a set of exercises to practise them, he further helps you identify your mistakes or weaker moves & patiently waits for you to master and correct them.

After Netflix’s recent mind-blowing season: the Queen’s Gambit, there has been quite a massive influx of new chess players in the market, with more & more people falling in love with this artfully intelligent game, Dr Wolf seems to have gained some-what more popularity among the masses but that might also be on account of his rather witty humour, which makes the users love him.

Dr Wolf has proven to be quite a friendly coach who compliments your moves whenever he sees you making progress or comes across any mindfully brilliant strategy, which resultantly earns you his acknowledgements in the form of points making the game all the more interesting for the user. The game graphics are rather simple, giving the user true chess vibes.

All in all Dr Wolf teaches you everything about chess from the names of each of the pieces & their movements to insightful strategies & master strokes techniques.

The game allows the user to select their favourite coach from four possible options & three levels of difficulty: beginner, intermediate & advanced. Each level is designed in a way that allows the user to learn a unique game plan & simulate their own strategy as per their judgement developed over the course of initial lessons. Once the basic training has been completed by the user, he can then choose any level of difficulty to play a game with their coach.

A major bummer of this game is the in-app purchases. The game only allows your coach to mentor you for the first three games, after that, if you wish to continue playing with the coach then you've got to subscribe to Coaching.

Once you've subscribed, the real fun then begins. The subscription allows you premium benefits & an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding & become a master yourself by playing as many interactive games as you want with the coach. But if you're an intermediate player yourself then the game also allows you to turn off coaching and play your moves without having the coach comment on them. In short, the subscription makes your coach all the more interactive with you & you feel like playing with a real player instead of just a computer.

There are no specific controls to the game, the on-screen buttons are self-explanatory and quite easy. So far Learn Chess with Dr Wolf is the best chess game out there.
