Cover Fire Review: Become a War Veteran!
Ever wanted to get a glimpse of what an actual battlefield looks like? Ever dreamt of becoming a war veteran? We've just got the right game for you in place. Cover Fire will provide you with just the experience of actual Battlefield chaos!
Cover Fire is a tactical war game that takes you into an actual battlefield. Fight enemies, survive their attacks & become a war hero! Choose a mode of war & eliminate your targets one by one by carrying out strategic missions, & claim victory!
The game is a third-person shooting game featuring some first-person sniper missions. Although it isn’t a multiplayer game, it does allow one to carry out interesting solo missions. The game is very well built and really fun to play. To make it even more interesting, in-game events appear from time to time.
The most impressive part of the game is the gameplay. Each episode comes with certain missions that are categorized as normal, medium & very hard. Until you complete the current episode you can’t unlock the next episode.
Another unique feature you wouldn’t really find in any other game is that at the end of every battle if you win then you get this impressive slow-motion last kill shot. At the end of every successful mission, you also win cards. These cards contain money, an upgrade to your current skills & sometimes you also unlock extra characters. To play a mission you require one unit of energy. By default, the game awards you one unit of energy after every 4-minute wait.
The game starts you off very easy but as one gets further down the missions the battles become harder to complete & win. As the missions get harder you’re required to upgrade your character. Upgrading can be done by either waiting it out, playing the missions again & again and getting rewards to upgrade which may sometimes take a few days. Which is an actual bummer! Or you can simply shop for the required skills to get a character upgrade. The choice is yours. But sometimes it feels as if the game is forcing you to pay in order to get a character upgrade.
You can increase your characters skills by winning more missions. You can also, play the same mission more than once to upgrade your character's combat level for the next mission.
Now, let us take you through the characters, the game has a variety of characters to choose from. You have an assault, a sniper & a demolition guy & there is an individual category of super cool weapons & ammunition coinciding with each of these characters.
One feature you normally don’t see in PC/mobile games is that if you go into the black market they’ll give you free crates of all three levels i.e. CLASSIC, REAR & EPIC. This is rarely ever found in any other mobile game. You get a CLASSIC level crate every 6 hours, a RARE level crate every 12 hours & an EPIC level crate every 24 hours. And of course, you can buy the crate through in-app purchases as well whenever you want.
You can shop the VIP passes, which allows you to get extra gold, extra energy obviously after paying for the pass to run the missions. The cash shop holds a plethora of things just like any other game.
If you’re fine with having to spend money to get a character upgrade, then the game is really fun to play & easy to master.
In terms of controls, the game makes use of the smooth touch feature of your phone's screen. You can target your enemy by moving your finger anywhere over the screen & then pressing fire to shoot and voila! The enemy has been eliminated just like that. No complex controls, no separate buttons. It really is that easy.
Our final verdict is that we enjoyed the gameplay minus the in-app purchases.
